FAQs

Are you the right trainer for me?

That is something that only you as a client can figure out. What is important to you as a client? You are more than welcome to read through our website and see if you think we would be a good fit. Also, feel free to call our business and talk over your goals for you and your dog with our trainers and make your decision that way. For our trainers, the dogs always come first and we just want to make sure our client dogs are happy well rounded dogs.

What do I need to bring for my dog when I drop him/her off?

We only require the dogs food to come with them for the length of time they will be staying with us. We also require a few vaccines along with records from the vet prior to drop-off.

Vaccines required: Bordetella, Rabies for dogs over 6 months old, Distemper, DHPP, and a heartworm preventative.

What is your training methodology? What tools do you use and why?

All of our trainers methodology is to train the dog in front of them. We understand that every dog is unique and not every dog responds the same way to certain tools or motivation. All of our trainers are balanced trainers. This means we motivate them with positive reinforcement that works for them as well as using tools that work for them to provide corrections for any negative behaviors. Dependent on each dog, we might use toys, playtime, food, extra valuable treats, or affection as motivation. If we determine your dog needs corrective tools we use a wide variety including but not limited to: prong collars, slip leads, gentle leads, plastic prong collars, or e-collars. For dogs under 6 months of age we will use interruption of negative behaviors as a correction. This means we may use a squirt bottle, rock jar shaker, or simply physically interrupting the behavior by redirecting the dog to focus on something else that is positive. We will never use any tool on a dog before they fully understand the commands they are supposed to be completing. Our company believes that owners should be fully educated on tool use before implementing them. If we use a tool on your dog, at your lesson, you will be fully informed on why and how to use it as well as being fully educated on how the tool works. We are more than willing to discuss tool usage with owners. Our goal is always for the dogs to be happy and well cared for even if they are being corrected for certain behaviors.

What makes you different from other trainers in the area?

Lauren is one of the few trainers in our area that is extremely invested in sport training. She travels the world competing and is very versed in teaching dogs sports.

Our trainers focus on the dog in front of them, while most trainers focus on one form of motivation and one form of correction, we want the dogs to be successful so we are willing to change our training approach if it makes the dogs more successful in the long run. We have gained knowledge from numerous successful trainers by traveling the world to learn and continue our education through seminars and conferences. See our trainer page to find out where we learned!

We believe no one dog should be trained in any one specific way.

We also are one of the few companies in the area that offers a day train program!

How do I get my dog into sports?

We want to help get all the dogs into sports. We believe sports are a fantastic way to bond with your dog. Please contact us and let us know what sports you would be interested in and we can point you in the right direction. The process is different for different sports.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes, right now we do PayPal invoices. We write up contracts based on agreed upon terms and invoice you over a period of time. Final payments are due upon pick up. For example, if it is February and you book for June we can offer payments weekly or biweekly for that entire period of time.

Please note: we are working towards teaming up with PayPal and Afterpay to offer additional options for payment plans.
